UN’s SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Through our environment-focused work, we take responsibility for reducing our impact on the external environment and climate change. Our environmental work is incorporated into daily operations and is a natural part of our culture.

All of our employees are bound by our environmental policies. Our company evaluates its relationship with and its impact on the environment, and incorporates environmental work in its management systems. This means that environmental and climate issues are emphasised in the ongoing development of our business and services.

We focus on reducing our environmental impact. We actively encourage our customers, cooperating partners and suppliers to take actions and choices that promote environmental work. We have an effective environment management system. This incorporates an obligation to continually improve and uphold public authority requirements and our own standards.

How do we believe this is done?

All sustainable development goals are equally important; however, some of the 17 goals are more relevant to us, and these guide our efforts in promoting a better future. At NOFI we focus in particular on goals no. 8, 12, 14 and 17.

In our research and development (R&D), we focus strongly on quality products with a long shelf life. In addition, there is a strong focus on repair, reuse and recycling where this is possible. Our footprint (CO2) is sought to be minimized both internally at our production facilities and externally with our customers when using and disposing of our products.

14 Life below water

Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.

A number of our products are designed for use in and at sea. It is important to us that these products do not cause emissions during use and disposal. In addition to having products that harvest from the sea, such as fishing gear and aquaculture equipment, we also supply products for the efficient collection of oil spills on the sea surface and the recapture of escaped farmed salmon.
